The Lost Cities

LOST CITIES
The” Lost Cities” and  “Music of the Lost Cities”  (a collaboration with composer Chris Brown) is a psycho-geographical, mixed-media narrative that explores pre and post apocalyptic urban landscapes and architectural backdrops through imaginary characters named “the sub-colonials” who move through these past, futurist, and surreal environments. This work includes video and collaborative performances, mixed media paintings, small sculpture and digital prints.
The time is past or in the future but some sort of insulation is needed to survive the current conditions.  We are submerged and hooked up to life support.  The survivors are the Sub-Colonials traveling under the radar of extinction, protected by years of entitlement, but losing air.  They tour the glorious wreckage, sometimes transported, out of sequence with reality.
