Community Key 2004
Marcia Coggs Health and Human Services Building
12th and Vliet Street

The architecture of this building provided the compositional framework and the Greek Key designs, enlarged in fiberglass and set with ceramic tile and metal, into which I integrated images and text that I collected through workshops and interviews with the community and people working on the revitalization of this neighborhood. The centerpieces of the artwork panels focus on six words; Vision, Catalyst, Culture, Harmony, Health and Nature. Within these inspiring concepts are everyday images, words and ideas that bring different voices to this work of public art.
