TENDERLOIN CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND

This project consisted of ceramic installations and floor design (12 2′ x 10′ Pillars, drinking fountain, 2 bathrooms and 2,000 square ft. floor). On one side of the pillars the work was titled “Epic” and the other side the series of tiles was titled “Predictions”. Photos of the youth from the Vietnamese Youth Development Center, were fired onto the tile with hand painted backgrounds or text relating to their story “Epic” or their personal predictions. The floor is designed as a game board and tiles with drawings, text and photos can be found in the bathrooms and by the water fountain.Commissioned by the San Francisco Art Commission Public Art Program.
